Nanzen-in
- Address: 86 Nanzenjifukuchi-chō, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto-shi, Kyoto Prefecture (
rough location)
- Founder: Retired Emperor Kameyama
- Founded: 1287
One of the sub-temples of Nanzen-ji. This temple is said to be the birthplace of Nanzen-ji. Passing under the Suirokaku (water bridge) and go up the stone stairs you will find yourself in front of the gate of this temple. If you turn left there, you will find the entrance to the garden. Late in autumn, just after you entered the entrance, a scene of a maple tree with beautifully colored leaves reflecting on a dark floor of a hall will attract you.
